About the Role
RORU is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Officer to lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of our Education & Youth Development programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure quality program delivery and meaningful impact for beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed work plans for education and youth programs
- Coordinate with field staff, community leaders, and partner organizations
- Monitor program activities and prepare regular progress reports
- Manage program budgets and ensure compliance with donor requirements
- Document lessons learned and best practices for knowledge sharing
- Represent RORU at relevant coordination meetings and forums
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of education and youth programs
- Supervise and mentor field coordinators and community facilitators
- Ensure timely and quality reporting to donors and management
- Contribute to proposal development and fundraising efforts
- Facilitate training workshops and capacity building activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in program management within the NGO sector
- Strong understanding of youth development and education issues in Uganda
- Excellent report writing and communication skills in English
- Proficiency in MS Office and data management tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to field locations regularly
